Well, opposite example: You're gone fishing to the nearest swamp (let's
say it IS a different world, in a sense). Clouds of mosquitos surround
you, you slap them by hundreds (and they' obviously, die, if you're
agile enough).

Looks different, doesn't it? Once again, careful balancing is a cure...

This one, for example, may be solved by either a different factor for
the population of that WimpyWorld (mosquitos have a different size and
so on, so you wouldn't get terribly advanced for wiping out the entire
mosquito population of the given swamp) and/or different interaction
mechanisms (they drink your blood in gallons, and you get back home with
a terrible allergy to some swamp herb).
