Well, *I* think its a great idea. It's a bit like having a 'follow' command
in some ways (you follow until you make an explicit move of your own), but
there is much more to it. You've given some good reasons as to why players
would want to be in a party (the party can operate with the skill of the
most skilled character in the party), which is very important. There could
also be tie-ins to guilds here, or perhaps the guild fans could borrow
some of your ideas.
