Well, the ubiqious gprof, which you should already have if you're using
gcc/egcs and gdb.
In fact, unlike some other compilers/profilers I've used, leaving the GNU
profiler running on your code all the time seems to have no effect whatsoever
on performance. It wouldn't hurt to just leave it running all the time so
that you can check the profiling logs whenever you like.
