MUD2: It set the mould.  It also set and still holds the bar on quite
a few areas.

Shades: Incredibly playable and a very accurate and telling
demonstration that complexity, detail, and logical consistency have
little relation to actual playability.

LambdaMOO: Finally demonstrated the true crossing of user programming
and virtual cultures.

Tron: Took (takes?) the concept of randomity and resets to their
extreme and throws in PK.  Not really sure what was so trend setting
there, but it sure rocked me back on my heels.
