OpenStep is not exactly dead:
Per Rick Moen(?) checkin and patch rates to GnuStep projects have
increased near exponentially in the last years.
Even Display Postscript has a life:
The DPS extension for XFree86 is neat, especially given the pain
that is the current X11 renderer.
At one point one of the GnuStep principles was active on MUD-Dev,
mostly (IIRC) in regard to CORBA.
The GCC compiler suite supports Objective C. The documentation at
gnu.org is paltry:
