You may have the most advanced simulation of the real world ever, and
economic turmoil may be a part of your game experience, but even real
economies aren't closed. We need the Alan Greenspans of the world to
tweak the valves and tune the numbers on occasion. Otherwise, you end up
with a nice old Russian babooshka somewhere, gathering a garbage bag full
of rubles so that she can buy a loaf of bread. She's going to quit your
game, and then you'll be the one losing money. Embrace your inner
Greenspan. Or, if you're feeling especially patriarchal, you can pretend
to be the World Bank. Either way, somebody's got to mind the mint.
