A number of people have been saying that the system as I posited it
would be needlessly complex, and I agree. However, I have been doing
some thinking, and I came up with an idea to limit the percieved
complexity. I would make it so that only one 'class' (or guild in a
classless system) would be able to directly use the script. Other
classes would have to use predefined spells that were written in the
scripting language by immortals, or (maybe?) other players. Perhaps
some calsses would also be able to put together pieces of script to
make their spells, sort of like the mix-n-match approach written
about earlier.
